NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Paul McCartney has pushed back the date of his Nashville concert as he continues to recover from an illness that forced him to postpone recent shows in Asia.

McCartney had originally been scheduled to perform at Bridgestone Arena on June 25, and the new date is Oct. 16.

In a press release, McCartney said he is heeding medical advice to rest longer before continuing his Out There world tour in North America.

"I'm sorry but it's going to be a few more weeks before we get rocking in America again. I'm feeling great but taking my docs' advice to take it easy for just a few more days. Look forward to seeing you all soon," he said in the press release.

Tickets for the original June concert will been honored for the new date in October.

Other rescheduled concerts include Louisville, Atlanta, New Orleans and Dallas.
