Alan Jackson exhibit to open at Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Alan Jackson will be the focus of a new exhibit opening later this summer at the County Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Jackson is one of the most popular and beloved country artists of the last 25 years, and The New York Times once called him the "conscience" of country music.

His news conference Thursday morning came with a little drama as rumors swirled that Jackson might announce his retirement.

"How can I retire? I don't work much now," he joked.

Instead, Jackson announced a 25-city concert tour for 2015 along with the museum exhibit. And he was named the museum's 2014 artist-in-residence.

The exhibit opens Aug. 29 and will include highlights from Jackson's career.
