Miranda Lambert reports her plane made emergency landing

Posted: Updated:

CMA week is off to a bumpy start for country music star Miranda Lambert after she says her plane had to make an emergency landing Tuesday evening in West Virginia while on the way to Nashville.

Lambert, who is scheduled to perform at LP Field along with husband Blake Shelton on Friday night, was traveling to Music City after making several television appearances in New York City to promote her new album, Platinum.

She wrote on Instagram, "Our plane had an emergency landing in Clarksburg WV. But don't worry, we found platinum fire suits."

The Westwind twin jet departed Teterboro, NJ, just outside New York City Tuesday afternoon with a plan to land at Nashville International Airport, when it was diverted for an unknown reason to North Central West Virginia Airport, according to Flightaware.

About three hours later, the plane continued its trip, landing just after 7 p.m. at Smyrna Airport.
