NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A flight had to return to the gate after takeoff at Nashville International Airport on Sunday when police say a United Airlines passenger threatened a flight attendant.

The attendant told police she asked Lashonda Lee Williams to turn off her cell phone and Williams responded by saying, "I kill white people like you."

Williams is also accused of saying she would follow the flight attendant when the plane landed to find out where she lived.

When the plane returned to the gate, police arrested Williams and charged her with assault.
