NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police say a fight between a man and a woman in downtown Nashville ended with the two stabbing each other.

The incident happened at the corner of Broadway and Second Avenue South on Thursday around 9:40 p.m.

Police say 31-year-old Joseph Kirk and 20-year-old Irish Adam were drinking when they got into an argument before pulling out knives and attacking one another.

Both of them were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center but have since been released.

Police say they found a knife in Kirk's jacket and a knife in Adam's clothing.

Adam, who provided a Pennsylvania address, is charged with aggravated assault and is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Kirk, who is from Illinois, is charged with aggravated assault, public intoxication and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $31,000.

Police say they believe Kirk and Adams travel from place to place by jumping onto freight trains.
