NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A series of strong and some isolated severe storms left areas of minor damage Thursday in southern Kentucky and northern Middle Tennessee.

Hail, frequent lightning and strong wind gusts were reported, particularly in Macon and Overton counties.

Storm spotters report trees down, blocking both lanes of Highway 136 in Poplar Springs, about six miles southwest of Livingston. Trees are also down in Red Boiling Springs and Gainesboro.

There is no threat for severe storms in the Nashville area later Thursday evening.
