Wayward barge wrangled on Cumberland River

Posted: Updated:

Crews wrangled a wayward barge Wednesday on the Cumberland River near Cleeces Ferry in west Nashville.

The craft, owned by Lone Star Industries, was sideways in the water near mile marker 182 when the Nashville Fire Department secured it.

Lone Star officials say the barge, which was carrying cement, came loose due to wind and the river's current.

The barge and its cargo were not damaged.
