MARION COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -
UPDATE: The Marion County Campground looked like a ghost town according to campers who say the usually popular hot spot appears empty compared to previous years.
The outdoor enthusiasts who usually stay overnight changed their plans to only enjoy the day because they don't feel safe after hearing 50- year-old Shana Leigh from Chickamauga was found floating dead in Nickajack Lake May 17th.
Several campers say the park manager told them, “the woman probably slipped, bumped her head and fell in the water.” That alleged response didn't sit well with those who asked questions and expressed concern over their safety
The TBI says, they are investigating this incident as "a suspicious death" and aren't ruling out foul play.
The Marion County Sheriff’s and the TBI is encouraging anyone with information about this case to come forward. Their number is 423-943-5667
