Unoccupied car hit by train in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police said a car was hit by a train Friday at the railroad crossing at Grant and Pettigrew streets.

The car was unoccupied when it was hit by an eastbound Norfolk/Southern train around 9:15 p.m., police said.

No one was injured in the indicant.

Durham police are currently diverting traffic from that intersection until the crossing is clear.
