RALEIGH, N.C. -

Friday afternoon nearly 50 Triangle residents marched in downtown Raleigh. The group held signs and flags while chanting “Bring Back Our Girls.”

The group calls themselves Concerned Nigerian Community. Organizers put the march together to remind people of the incident that happened in Nigeria in April. Nearly 300 girls were kidnapped on their way to school by the terrorist group Boko Haram.

“We couldn't stop crying,” said Adlie Anokam, an organizer of the march. “We thought about what Boko Haram had been doing in Nigeria. We don't know when it started and we don't know when it will end. That's why we need help to stop this.”

The group walked several miles with their signs and flags. They said it’s important people do not forget about the act of terrorism.

“That could be anybody’s daughter,” said Florence Ikechukwu. “It could be my own daughter. It could be my niece and it could be anybody’s daughter so I am grieving. I feel that my own children have been kidnapped when they went to school just to make their life better.”

Organizers hope the march will put pressure on organizers here and in Nigeria to keep incidents like this from happening again.
