NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A driver is in the Metro jail after police say he got so mad that he started shooting at another car on Thursday night.

Police say the suspect fired two shots at a car and followed the victims through Hermitage.

The victims called police once the shooter drove away, and police eventually found the car nearby and arrested Quenton Patterson.

The victims say Patterson started swearing at them in a parking lot before chasing them.

Patterson told police the other driver crashed into his car and he pulled out the gun so he could blow out a tire and stop them.

Police say Patterson didn't have a permit for the gun and his license had been suspended.

He is facing several charges, including aggravated assault.
