State Route 96 reopens in Williamson County after crash

ARRINGTON, TN (WSMV) -

State Route 96 has reopened Wednesday evening in Williamson County after a serious crash.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a Freightliner dump truck was traveling eastbound about 11:45 a.m. when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert, overturned and then struck a tree.

The driver, 58-year-old Jimmy Arnold, of Woodbury, was flown by Life Flight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His condition has not been released.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Efforts to clear the scene were slow, THP says, because when one wrecker almost had the vehicle up-righted, its hydraulic line broke, so they had to start over with another wrecker.
