Source: RPS spokesperson likely out after alcohol incident

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond Public School officials recommended school board members not renew the contract of the district's spokesperson following an incident last month involving alcohol and an intern, according to sources.

Felicia Cosby is on administrative leave for violating district policy by allegedly giving alcohol to a student intern at RPS offices, according to sources.

The sources say Cosby makes her own wine and brought some to work where she shared it with the intern, who is a college student and is not underage.

"The allegations leaked to the media about Ms. Cosby and alcohol are absolutely untrue, the Superintendent and School Board know they have no proof whatsoever and their refusal to accept responsibility for the unfairness done to my client will be addressed shortly," said Paul Goldman, who is representing Cosby.

Cosby remains on leave and will not be in the office through the end of her contact on June 30.

The alcohol allegation came from the Richmond Education Association on behalf of one of its members.
