NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A woman is dead after a crash on Murfreesboro Pike in Antioch on Wednesday morning.

Police say 32-year-old Brandi McCoy was driving east when her 2014 Ford Fusion ran off the road and slammed into a pole, bursting into flames near Lavergne Couchville Pike at 2:15 a.m.

Witnesses saw the crash happen and ran over to help her but could not get McCoy out of the vehicle.

Police say a friend of McCoy told them that she and McCoy had been drinking before the crash.

Toxicology testing will be conducted to see if alcohol contributed to the crash.
