It's Dolly Parton Homecoming Day in east Tennessee, and in addition to the big parade, people gathered to bless the newest addition to the Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge.

The 300-room DreamMore Resort is set to open its doors in 2015.

Dollywood is the state's top-ticketed attraction with between 2 1/2 and 3 million guests every year, and Parton said it was time to roll in the new DreamMore hotel.

"I thought wouldn't it be great to have this? And we've almost done it a few times and never quite got it. We almost had it off the ground a few years back when the economy went kinda down anyway. That was all fine, because the Lord was saying, 'Not yet, not yet, not yet. Now, he says, 'OK, let's go!'" Parton said.

Channel 4 caught up with Dolly and asked her about making people happy.

"Lord I hope so. I think it's because I've been around so long. Me and you have been around longer than anybody in Nashville, I think. But we've loved it, too, ain't we?" she said.

Parton also talked about what makes her most proud.

"I'm most proud of the fact that I've lived to see my dreams come true. I started dreaming here in the Smokey Mountains when I was little, dreaming about going to Nashville, being on the Grand Ole Opry, traveling all over the world. And not many people can honestly say they've lived to see their dreams come true."
