Nashville Symphony announces 2014 community concert series

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Nashville Symphony is again hitting the road for a series of community concerts across Middle Tennessee this summer.

The series will conclude with a free concert July 4 on the Lawn at Riverfront Park as part of Nashville's Independence Day celebration.

The dates and locations of the other community concerts are as follows:

  • Centennial Park, Nashville - Wednesday, June 4, 7:30 p.m.
  • East Park, Nashville - Thursday, June 5, 8 p.m.
  • Bicentennial Mall State Park, Nashville - Friday, June 6, 8 p.m.
  • Crockett Park, Brentwood - Sunday, June 8, 7 p.m.
  • Cumberland University, Lebanon - Tuesday, June 10, 7 p.m.
  • Key Park, Lafayette - Wednesday, June 11, 7:30 p.m.
  • Two Rivers Mansion, Nashville - Thursday, June 12, 7 p.m.

Performances will feature classical favorites by composers such as Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland and Cole Porter.

Each concert is free of charge except for June 10 in Lebanon, where admission will be $5 for adults, and free for students and children.
