RALEIGH, N.C. -

More than 1,400 students will receive degrees and diplomas Saturday when Wake Tech holds commencement exercises for its spring graduates will take place at 10 a.m.

About 800 graduates are expected to participate in the ceremony at the Raleigh Convention Center.

Wake Tech’s graduation ceremonies have been held in the main campus gymnasium for the past few years, but this year’s turnout warranted a return to the larger downtown venue. Phil Matthews, chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners, will be the commencement speaker.

The graduates range in age from 17 to 69.
