Police arrest teen in Goldsboro shooting, robbery

GOLDSBORO, N.C. -

Goldsboro police have charged a 17-year-old in connection with a robbery and shooting.

At around 1:30 p.m. on April 19, police responded to a shooting call on West New Hope Road. When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to Wayne County Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

After investigating the incident, police arrested 17-year-old Derajay Williams Speede on Wednesday, April 30.

Speede was place in the Wayne County Jail under a $400,000 secured bond. Speede is charged with felony attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
