Possibly severe storms expected through Tuesday in Middle TN

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The 4WARN Weather Team has issued a 4WARN Weather Alert for Tuesday, as there is a chance of storms developing by mid-afternoon across southern Middle Tennessee.

All of the Midstate remains under an elevated threat for severe weather.

The biggest threat for severe weather on Tuesday is in Mississippi and Alabama.

It is expected to be partly sunny for the first part of the day, then severe thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening, bringing the threats of flooding, hail and possible tornadoes.

Two people were killed in Lincoln County Monday night after two suspected tornadoes swept through the area. Most of the damage occurred in the southern Lincoln County area near Lincoln and Elora.

Fayetteville City Schools and Lincoln County Schools were closed on Tuesday due to damage from those storms. Macon and Hickman counties were closed because of flooding issues. Click here to see the latest school closings list.
