Tucson police are investigating homicide that happened in the parking lot of the Food City grocery store.

On Saturday April 26 at 9:56 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call in the parking lot, located at 2000 East Irvington Road.

According to TPD, when officers got there they found a man in the parking lot with obvious signs of gunshot trauma.

The gunshot victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased on arrival.

TPD say at this time his name is being withheld at this time pending next of kin notification.

Police are hoping witnesses come forward to help in the investigation. TPD says several people were in the parking lot when the shooting took place. A gray or silver Dodge Magnum was seen leaving the parking lot moments after the shooting. Detectives are considering it as a vehicle of interest at this point.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
