Senator Corker says U.S. should give lethal aid to Ukraine
Tensions are running high across the globe as the situation in Ukraine remains unsolved.
Lawmakers like Senator Bob Corker are suggesting sanctions against Russia begin now.
"I really do believe we should be sanctioning some of the companies in the energy sector, I think we should hit some of the large banks there, and certainly we should beef up our security with Ukraine," Sen. Corker said Sunday morning on Meet the Press.
After the announcement of another round of non-lethal aid, Sen. Corker told CNN that the U.S. needs to provide lethal aid to the country.
"I think it's time for us to consider anti-tank weaponry, anti-aircraft weaponry," said Corker. "Obviously Russia is going to far out-man them. We understand that. But we need to make sure that they understand that they are going to pay a price if they do come in."
House Armed Services Committee members believe the U.S. is not doing enough to aid Ukraine. They asked the White House for a briefing on the situation when Congress returns from recess next week.
