NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Red Cross is helping a family of five after flames ripped through their South Nashville home late Sunday afternoon.

Crews rushed to the scene of the home, in the 500 block of Blue-Water Drive just after 3 p.m.

Flames and smoke could be seen shooting from the roof. Propane tanks were stored behind the home, which increased an already dangerous situation, causing minor explosions.

It took a few hours for crews to get the flames under control. No injuries were reported.
