NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Country Music Hall of Fame partied Tuesday afternoon, celebrating completion of a $100 million expansion.

Vince Gill was among the performers at a concert during the celebration.

The museum more than doubles in size now that the new 210,000-square-foot expansion is open.

Many country stars came together to help raise money for the project, and said they're excited country music history will live on.

"It's respectful of everything that's ever been done," said Gill. "It's not just what the hottest, greatest coolest thing that's going on today. It represents everything that has been done and also what people forget. It represents everything that will be done."

In addition to the expanded space for memorabilia, live music will be a bigger part of the museum.

The County Music Association's $10 million donation funded a new 800-seat theater.
