Richland Creek Greenway coming full circle

Posted: Updated:

A popular West Nashville greenway will come full circle thanks to construction work that is already underway.

Crews have started to add a quarter-mile section of trail on the Richland Creek Greenway. The new section connects the trailhead at Sloan Road with the McCabe Community Center in Sylvan Park.

The work will create a complete greenway loop that is about 4 miles long.

Currently both ends of the path dead end in parking lots near the McCabe Golf Course.

Frequent visitors said the complete route will be easier to follow.

"It's super nice," said Becca Smith, who was out walking her dog. "You don't have to dodge different places, so it makes it a whole lot easier."

The project is costing about $400,000, said Jackie Jones with Metro Parks.

Work should be finished late this spring or early in the summer.
