2 Nashville bars padlocked, declared public nuisances

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police have padlocked two Nashville bars after they were declared public nuisances by Criminal Court Judge Mark Fishburn.

Throwdown Liquid Club and Ultra Violet Night Club, both on Second Avenue North near Lower Broadway, were closed Friday afternoon.

Police reported several hundred calls about illegal activity at the bars since January 2012, including fighting, drunkenness, breaches of the peace, narcotics violations and liquor and beer law violations.

An order from Judge Fishburn prohibits the bars' operators from entering onto the premises while the case progresses through the court.
