Charlie Daniels, Clint Black to play Lipscomb Concert for Heroes

Posted: Updated:

Two of the biggest supporters of the military in Middle Tennessee, Lipscomb University and country musician Charlie Daniels are partnering again for a great cause: sending veterans to college.

Now in its fifth year, the Charlie Daniels' Scholarship for Heroes Concert will raise money to give wounded veterans an education at the university.

The show gets underway at 7 p.m. at Allen Arena, and joining Daniels on stage will be Clint Black, Kellie Pickler, the Grascals and some surprise special guests.

Tickets to the show are free, but donations to the cause are accepted.

We asked Daniels about the program, and he said it's not about him.

"The 'Charlie Daniels' is not the important part. The 'heroes' is the important part," Daniels said. "We're starting to reach fruition with graduations now, and people are going to start taking what they've learned and going out and applying it in their life."
