KNOXVILLE (News Sentinel) -

Authorities don't expect a positive identification until next week on remains found in water under the South Knoxville Bridge where the truck of a man missing since 2010 was found Thursday.

In addition, Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk said the discovery of Derek Ryan Funk's truck in Fort Loudoun Lake has led to investigative leads from other law enforcement agencies.

"We will continue to provide updates as the multi-agency investigation continues," DeBusk said.

The remains could shed light on the May 12, 2010, disappearance of the 19-year-old Funk. The remains also could explain how Funk died, if the remains are his.
