Tammy Wynette's name restored to final resting place

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The final resting place of Tammy Wynette once again bears her name.

The country music legend's name was restored at her mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville on Thursday, two years after the name on the crypt was changed to Virginia Richardson.

Wynette's daughters said their step-sister convinced them to change the name to the performer's married name in an effort to regain personal belongings from their mother's estate.

The move was supposed to be temporary, they said.

The daughters couldn't restore Wynette's name because the crypt was left in their step-sister's name, and she had refused to change the letters.

After Wynette's daughters began a social media campaign, their step-sister agreed this week to restore Wynette's name on her crypt.
