CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. UTC ranks among the nation's top 100 teams in 13-of-18 categories in the latest NCAA statistical rankings released Friday afternoon, including the No. 3 spot for won-lost percentage.
Chattanooga is 29-3 overall with a 90.6 won-lost percentage, third best in the nation behind undefeated Connecticut and Notre Dame, both led by former aides to UTC head coach Jim Foster.
UTC is ranked ninth in the nation for fewest personal fouls with 14.8 per game and 22nd for turnovers per game with an average of 12.8. Freshman Jasmine Joyner (Southaven, Miss.) ranks 36th in the nation for blocked shots averaging 2.21 per game and has propelled UTC to a ranking of 27 in the country with 4.8 per game as a team.
The Mocs allow just 56.2 points per game, 15th best in the country while their scoring margin of 14.1 points per game more than its opponents is 17th on the list. Chattanooga is shooting 45 percent from the field, 25th in the country and has an assist-turnover ratio of 1.2 ranking 29th.
Senior Taylor Hall (New Tazewell, Tenn.) is ranked among the top 250 NCAA Division I players in 10 categories. She is 34th in the nation for steals with 2.53 per game and 47th for double-doubles with 13 on the year.
Chattanooga will hold a watch party at Jefferson's on Georgia Avenue Monday, March 17 from 6-8 p.m. ESPN will reveal the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament bracket with a special show beginning at 7 p.m. Reservations are not required.
