The Hermitage celebrates President Jackson's birthday

A big birthday bash is about to get underway at The Hermitage to honor President Andrew Jackson.

The celebration marks what would be his 247th birthday.

Things kick off at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, and festivities will include a wreath-laying ceremony with featured speaker U.S. Sen. Bob Corker along with Andrew Jackson VI, a Knox County judge and the great-great-great grandson of the nation's seventh president.

Visitors can also listen to lectures, and there will be activities for the kids.

And, of course, there will be birthday cake.
