A minor traffic stop ended with a Metro police officer being thrown to the ground.
Police pulled a driver over on Patricia Drive for a broken tail-light around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday.
The driver told police he could not find his driver's license, and while police tried to figure out who he was, he allegedly ran away.
Officers ran after the man, and police say Deshawn Epps threw an officer down to the ground.
When a second officer grabbed him, Epps allegedly fought back and shoved the officer in the chest.
Epps is facing charges for assault on an officer.
He already had several pending charges for a separate case involving an alleged theft at a McDonald's.
