TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

They're being told to leave.

Homeless people who've been in living in a wash along the Interstate 10 between Sunset and Ruthrauff for years say they've got until Wednesday to pack up and move out.

Some of them have been living there for years. They say the 24-hour notice isn't enough time to leave.

Kathy Blevins has been living in the camp for a couple of years. She said about 30 or so people have been living there, but after Pima County Sheriff's deputies told them to leave, 10 of them left.

"As I tell people, I'm not homeless, because, I have a home here. I am housing impaired," said Blevins.

Blevins said health problems and open-heart surgery caused her to lose both jobs she had and left her broke. She said deputies came by Tuesday afternoon telling people they have 24 hours to pack up and go. She said some people have been living there for more than a decade and they've accumulated a lot of stuff, are handicapped and have nowhere to go. Blevins said that's not enough time to move.

"Because they have pets, they have family there, all their belongings are there. There's nowhere to go. They're not giving us any options," said Blevins.

A Pima County Sheriff's Office spokesperson confirms deputies were called out to the camp, after the owner of the property called them. The spokesperson said the 24 hour notice is given as a courtesy and that if they don't leave they could be arrested.
