Metro schools face performance audit

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Monday, the public could learn more about potential problems with the Metro school district's budget.

For the first time in more than a decade, the district is being audited, as it faces a $15 million shortfall.

District leaders will sit down with Metro council members to talk about the current money issues.

The district's budget for this school year is more than $740 million.

If city leaders do not approve more money, it's possible schools may face some spending cuts.
