Woman charged after infant daughter found dead inside home

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Clarksville police have charged a 24-year-old mother in the death of her infant daughter Friday.

Neighbors say they heard a woman yelling and screaming just after 3:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of Sonja Drive.

Officers who responded to the scene found the body of 7-month-old Astrid Johnson inside the home.

Stefany Paige Johnson now faces one count of criminal homicide.

Neighbors say the residents of the home are a military family with two children. They are said to have lived there for seven months.

According to neighbors, the father of the family is currently deployed in Afghanistan.
