(CNN) - The Drug Enforcement Administration in Georgia has a new weapon in its fight against prescription drug abuse.

It launched a texting tip line this week.

The goal is to allow the public and pharmacy employees to quickly and anonymously report suspicious activity.

Georgia is one of the first states in the country to try the texting effort.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is also experimenting with the program.
