SMITHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Authorities have identified the people whose bodies were found by a fisherman this week on Center Hill Lake.

Robert W. Tramel, 71, and Barbara Beech, 49, both of Smithville, were found dead Wednesday evening, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency.

DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray says a fisherman called around 5:15 p.m. after finding a body.

Crews later found a second body by using sonar equipment.

Police said the uncle and niece had gone fishing earlier in the day around the Holmes Creek Boat Ramp off Holmes Creek Road.

The TWRA said neither was found wearing a life jacket, and the reason why the two ended up in the water is unknown.

Officials still have not located their fishing boat.

The TWRA, the DeKalb County Rescue Squad and the DeKalb County Emergency Management Agency helped with the investigation.
