NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Tennessee State University is celebrating Black History Month with the music of Michael Jackson.

TSU is showing Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story Tuesday night on campus. The screening is free and open to the public.

School officials say it's important to recognize not just political contributions of famous African Americans but cultural ones, too.

They say a tribute to Jackson is especially fitting this year.

"In fact, all February long, I'm showing movies related to Michael Jackson because 2014 is the fifth anniversary of his death. We're starting with Man in the Mirror," said TSU associate professor of music Dr. Mark Crawford.

The film begins at 7 p.m. at the TSU Performing Arts Center.
