300 soldiers return home to Fort Campbell

Posted: Updated:

Troops from Fort Campbell are back home with their loved ones after serving overseas.

Three hundred soldiers were reunited with family and friends early Tuesday morning during a welcome home ceremony.

They had been serving in Afghanistan, and for some, their family has changed quite a bit since they've been gone.

One of the soldiers Channel 4 spoke with said he couldn't wait to spend time with his now-2-year-old son.

"It's just great to be home. I've missed him a lot, so it's just nice to be back," he said.

The soldiers are from the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 101st Airborne Division and the 101st Sustainment Brigade.
