TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A driver was sent to the hospital after crashing into a bus stop that collapsed onto her car.

Northwest Fire District firefighters said a two-vehicle crash caused the driver of a Lexus sedan to lose control and crash into a bus stop on the southwest corner of Ina and La Cholla Thursday.

Authorities said the bus stop roof collapsed onto the car, trapping the driver.

Crews were able to get the 18-year-old driver out of her car after removing the driver's side door. She was taken to the UAMC trauma center for evaluation. Police said the driver of the other car was not injured.

Sun Tran set up a temporary bus stop. Officials said the bus service is running normally.
