NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

An application center for the Transportation Security Administration's Pre-Check program is now open at the Nashville International Airport.

Travelers who are approved for the program will be able to go through a quicker screening process that allows them to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belts, keep laptops in their cases and keep 3-1-1 compliant liquids and gels in their carry-on items.

The program is open to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents.

Pre-enrollment takes place online at TSA.gov and then travelers must bring biographic information, fingerprints and valid ID or citizenship/immigration documents to the application center to complete enrollment.

The application fee is $85, and the membership lasts for five years.

Nashville's application center is near the check-in counter for Frontier Airlines. Walk-in appointments are allowed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Travelers who are approved can use the pre-check lanes at over 100 participating airports.
