CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A Cleveland man pled guilty Tuesday to shooting and killing his friend, when the friend tried to stop him from driving drunk.

Scott Campbell will be sentenced on Feb. 4 by Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Jackson.

This past August, Campbell and Java Bowling III were in the vicinity of West 32nd Street and Roanoke Avenue in Cleveland.

Campbell was seated in his car, when Bowling tried to take the keys. Campbell then shot Bowling once in the chest.

Bowling died a week later at Metro.

Campbell also has prior convictions for drugs and aggravated burglary.
