NOGALES, AZ (CBS5) -

Federal authorities in the U.S. and Mexico have shut down a reported smuggling tunnel originating in Mexico that extended 133 feet into the U.S.

The incomplete tunnel was discovered Wednesday, in Nogales, west of the DeConcini Port, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Fresh dirt within the floor of a drainage system led authorities to finding the tunnel which reached about three feet high. CBP said the tunnel did not yet open up into Arizona.
