Westbound I-10 reopens near Casa Grande

PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

Westbound Interstate 10 has reopened north of Casa Grande in the wake of a four-vehicle crash.

A stretch of the interstate near the Sacaton Rest Area opened back up a few hours after the 1 p.m. collision, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

ADOT officials said one of the vehicles involved was carrying cleaning supplies, causing toilet paper and paper towels to be strewn across the lanes.

Several people were hurt after a SUV crossed the median and struck several vehicles head on.

While most injuries appear minor, one person was seriously hurt and taken to the Maricopa County Medical Center, DPS officers said.

All traffic was temporarily rerouted onto State Route 387.
