Central hands Boyd-Buchanan its second loss

Boyd-Buchanan went unblemished in its first 12 games of the basketball season.

Now it's gone without a win in its last two.

Central pulled out a 52-50 road win over the Bucs on Friday night, dropping host Boyd-Buchanan to 12-2 overall. Tyner handed the Bucs their first loss of the year in the championship game of last week's Best of Preps championship game.

Terry Tiller finished in double figures to lead the Purple Pounders, who trailed 27-21 at the break.

Cleveland 78, Notre Dame 53
Kendrick Thompson poured in 32 points to lead Cleveland to a 78-53 non-district road win at Notre Dame Friday night.

Thompson scored 13 points in the opening frame as the Blue Raiders stormed to a 27-19 lead. He scored 10 more in the second period to help Cleveland extend its lead to 46-31 before the Blue Raiders cruised through the second half.

Tyler Byrd led the Irish with 21 points.
