The family of a local man has been waiting to find out who murdered their loved one over $125 worth of electronics.
Thursday marks the one-year anniversary of Stephen Millikan's murder, and his family says they want the case solved.
Millikan was an honors student at Whites Creek High School and an electronic whiz who loved making music.
When the 18-year-old became a father, he knew he had to work, so he wanted to sell his studio equipment for construction boots and a tool belt.
One year ago, Millikan went to Trinity Apartments to sell his electronics for $125.
Police say four men took the equipment and his cell phone and let Millikan leave, but then went back to his car and shot him in the neck as he drove away.
His mother says she misses him so much that she just moved three weeks ago to try to get away from the awful memories.
"The house we was living in on Due West, it was just so cold. I left his room the same way," Semetta Millikan said.
Perhaps the hardest part is that Millikan's killer still goes free, even though his mother says she knows the names of the five teenagers involved in the robbery and murder.
"We know each and every last one of them that's involved ... I don't care who shot the gun because I want all five of them to suffer. I don't care who shot him. You know you was there, you know the intent," Semetta Millikan said.
His mother donated Millikan's heart and kidneys. She says she wanted him to live through someone else.
"It just hurts so bad. And the day of the funeral, that was the last vision I had of my baby, laying in that casket," she said.
Channel 4 spoke with police, and they say they know the names of the five people involved and are working this case. They say the key is being able to prove who the shooter was, which is what has taken so long, but they are getting very close and say justice will be served.
