Flooding cleanup complete after pipe bursts at Metro jail

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Cleanup has finished at the Metro jail after some flooding Tuesday morning.

The water line to the showers leaked, causing flooding inside the Davidson County Sheriff's Office intake area of the Criminal Justice Center booking room around 1 a.m.

Officers used a mobile unit to process the people who were arrested overnight. Metro police say there was little disruption in booking services.

Officials say the mess was cleaned up by about 3 p.m., and booking is now back in full operation.

They say this has happened before. The building is about 30 years old, and the mayor's office has allotted $30 million for the sheriff's office to do upgrades on the building.
