A woman is behind bars for allegedly taking money from her work in order to pay for her mortgage.

The suspect, Allison Shacklett, was an employee at Action Nissan in Nashville.

Police say she was spotted on surveillance cameras cashing company checks and pocketing the money.

Shacklett was in charge of preparing checks at the car dealership.

According to police records, Shacklett made out a check to her boyfriend totaling just under $2,000 and went with him to cash it at a local Walmart, which is where they were seen on camera.

She explained to police that she'd been having mortgage trouble.

Shacklett was charged with felony theft.
