The Midstate's top nurses were honored on Tuesday night.
The Nurse of the Year Awards gala was sponsored by the March of Dimes, an organization which focuses on pregnancy and infant health issues.
A volunteer committee reviewed the nominees in 16 categories.
Susan Peach was a nurse for 37 years and said the profession is the heart and soul of the healthcare industry.
"This is a wonderful celebration tonight of all the facets of nursing," said Peach. "We've had over 160 nominees from across Nashville."
Channel 4 meteorologist Dan Thomas emceed the event.
