Metro Schools dismissing early Friday

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools will be dismissing two hours early Friday.

All afterschool activities at Metro Schools are canceled Friday.

School officials say MTA will run half-day schedules and that students who ride MTA will be able to leave school a little early to catch the bus.

Several other counties have canceled school for Friday as wintry weather moves into the area. Stay updated with the latest Snowbird closings and delays here.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for most of the area, including Davidson County. The advisory in Davidson County is in effect from 4 p.m. to midnight Friday.

According to the NWS, a winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties, so drivers should be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities.
