One person was killed in a crash on I-24 East in Rutherford County Wednesday morning.
The crash, which involved a tractor-trailer and a Nissan Sentra, happened at mile marker 92 just before 5 a.m.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says 23-year-old William Myers of Hillsboro, TN, was driving eastbound when he crossed over from the left lane into the right lane and made contact with the back of the tractor-trailer. Myers' vehicle then went underneath the tractor-trailer.
Officials say the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured in the crash.
According to the THP report, no charges have been filed.
The eastbound lanes were closed and traffic was diverted off the interstate after the crash, causing a traffic backup for hours.
